The Opportunity: As the GBSM (Global Brand Strategy & Marketing) Precision Medicine Lead you will be responsible for driving the implementation of commercial Precision Medicine programs supporting Astellas’s targeted therapies platform. This position will report directly into the Head, SBM Precision Medicine (Strategic Brand Marketing - SBM), and will work in close partnership with cross-functional partners including Medical & Development (M&D), Companion Diagnostics (CDx) Partners, Global Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Regulatory, Market Access and other functions to facilitate successful diagnostic launches. This position can be based in the UK or EU4 major markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing commercial leadership to both Global and Regional teams which includes acting as the Strategy Lead for Select Biomarkers / Indications.
  • Developing and leading Precision Medicine Strategy for select biomarker programs in lung and pancreatic cancer including Commercial CDx partner evaluation, Precision Medicine (PM) strategic plan / iGBP, launch planning, core global materials, KEEs, Diagnostic Testing Education and coordination with other PM colleagues to ensure implementation and localisation in key geographies.
  • Providing US Support: late-stage Biomarkers / Indications - oversee pull through of Precision Medicine launch/commercialisation strategy including DTE, market research, ad boards, material development and MLR review.
  • Acting as the Global PM Above Brand Lead - CDx Partner commercial governance, cross-functional stakeholder management, Precision Medicine Enterprise strategy/metric development, diagnostic testing education (DTE) development process, Pathologist KEE strategy and Global channel strategy for affiliate adoption of Global diagnostic strategy.
  • Leading the commercial evaluation of companion diagnostics platforms, actively seek new products/technologies, effectively partner and foster key collaboration with appropriate industry, academics, and government partners.
  • Provide diagnostic leadership, support and expertise to Global and US Precision Medicine counterparts and cross-functional partners and developing Precision Medicine strategy and corresponding marketing/operationalization plans to drive implementation for affiliates.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Demonstrable Diagnostic / Medical Device / Pharma marketing experience within Oncology.
  • Regional Diagnostic launch experience.
  • Technical understanding of diagnostic technologies.
  • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry.
  • Proven strategic thinking skills to create a robust business case, analyse commercial and business information and devise strategy.

Preferred Experience:

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D in Life Science, MBA, Medical, or Pharmacy).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in biology, Molecular Biology or other scientific discipline or equivalent.

Additional Information: This is a permanent full-time position. This position can be based in the UK or EU4 major markets. This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 1 day per quarter in our local office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
