Support production and organisational objectives by managing the procurement of materials, components, and services. Work closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality purchasing aligned with build schedules and departmental KPIs.

About The Role

  • Raise, amend, and monitor purchase orders; maintain accurate ERP/PO data.
  • Expedite open and shortage orders to avoid production delays; plan orders to align with build schedules and JIT requirements.
  • Work with suppliers to reduce lead times, costs, and improve delivery/quality performance.
  • Monitor vendor quality and maintain up-to-date supplier information.
  • Arrange transportation and track deliveries to ensure timely arrival; resolve delivery or invoicing discrepancies with stores and finance.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and bills of material (BOMs) when required.
  • Discuss and resolve issues with defective or unacceptable materials.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and support cost-saving and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties that support purchasing and production needs.

Required Criteria

  • Minimum 2+ years purchasing experience in manufacturing or engineering.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Epicor or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret BOMs and engineering drawings.
  • Detail oriented, proactive, and adaptable to changing production or supply conditions.
