Responsible for assisting the Head of Exposure Management in providing oversight of the Natural Catastrophe Risk of managed syndicates. Responsible for assisting in completing regulatory returns (LCM and RDL), enhancing the managing agency approach to climate change risk, reviewing and ensuring representation of natural catastrophe risk in Internal models is materially complete. Providing Exposure Management services for Syndicates where required.
Key Responsibilities
- ISO 27001 All Staff - to comply with the applicable Information Security Management System (ISMS) policies, including Clear Desk and Screen Policy, attend annual IT security training, Information Systems Usage policy.
- Timesheet - Ensure timesheets are accurately and diligently completed within the required timeframe.
- Conduct Standards – Tier 1 All Staff – to comply at all times with the PRA/FCA’s Conduct Standards.
- Data owners for the Internal Model are responsible for ensuring the Asta data policy is applied in an appropriate manner to all data items.
Key tasks
- In conjunction with the Exposure Management team, review, and complete syndicates LCM and RDS return.
- Monitor and report on syndicates' compliance with Exposure Management requirements.
- Oversee the monitoring of managed syndicates operational performance against plans/procedures; liaise with Lloyd’s as required.
- Oversee the monitoring of natural catastrophe data quality on managed syndicates underwriting systems.
- Contribute to the SBF submission process for Asta including the detailing of the timetable, responsible for the accuracy of returns and engagement with Lloyd’s.
- Assist in the ongoing monitoring of climate change risk, including the creation of deterministic scenarios and stress tests for material region perils/region-perils sensitive to climate change risk.
- Oversee the data inputs for Internal model use and attest that the inputs are complete, accurate and appropriate.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Very good written and verbal communication skills including good reporting writing, and presentation skills.
- The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Highly numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-assured with the confidence to participate and contribute to discussions with clients and senior management.
- Self-motivated.
- Previous experience of the identification and quantification of event scenarios, gained ideally within a Lloyd's environment.
- Detailed knowledge of key proprietary natural peril models and of approaches to natural catastrophe Exposure Management.
- Sufficient (re)insurance knowledge to assess the reasonableness of Exposure Management processes.
- Knowledge of Solvency II regulatory framework with regards to Exposure Management.
- Experience in completing Lloyd’s regulatory returns.
- Experience in assessing the physical risks of climate change.
