We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer – LEO Satellite Gateway Infrastructure to support the planning, design, and deployment of ground-based infrastructure for satellite gateway systems. This role focuses on delivering durable, scalable, and code‑compliant civil and structural solutions across varied global environments while collaborating closely with cross‑functional engineering and deployment teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead civil and structural engineering design for antenna foundations, equipment pads, radomes, and related site infrastructure.
- Perform seismic and wind load analyses for antenna systems and supporting structures in compliance with applicable design standards.
- Conduct viewshed and horizon analyses to validate line‑of‑sight and sky visibility requirements.
- Oversee geotechnical investigations, including soil characterization, bearing capacity assessment, and foundation optimization.
- Review and validate anchor layouts, structural interfaces, and load transfer mechanisms.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to align civil designs with system and deployment requirements.
- Review third‑party engineering deliverables for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
- Support permitting, zoning, and regulatory approval processes related to site development.
- Supervise construction activities and contractors to ensure compliance with design, safety, and schedule requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance reviews for concrete works, anchoring systems, and overall site preparation.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent required. Advanced degree or professional licensure preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in civil or structural engineering related to infrastructure or industrial facilities.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting satellite ground stations, telecommunication facilities, or large antenna systems.
- Knowledge of lightning protection, grounding, and resilient site design.
- Familiarity with construction practices across diverse geographic regions and climates.
- Proven ability to manage multiple sites, vendors, or projects concurrently.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills within cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven problem‑solving and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced, multi‑project environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy of designs and documentation.
- Structural and civil analysis software (e.g., industry‑standard modeling and calculation tools).
- Geotechnical and site analysis tools, including viewshed and horizon analysis applications.
- Computer‑aided design (CAD) and documentation software.
- Collaboration and project management platforms.
- Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for site visits, inspections, and construction oversight.
- Capability to safely navigate active construction sites and outdoor environments in varying conditions.
