To produce engineering design work packages (specification, drawings, analysis, verification or assessment of engineering) that satisfy the legal and functional requirements along with the associated performance conditions to the agreed time, cost and quality.
- Experience working within an asset care delivery function on operational facilities, with experience supporting the implementation of asset care projects during construction/installation/commissioning, and responding to Engineering Queries and Fault Observations.
- Familiarity and experience of working and complying with applicable Sellafield Practices, Processes, Engineering Standards, and Engineering Guides.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ design delivery experience OR other qualification such as HNC/HND with 10+ years’ design delivery experience.
- Experience working within a highly regulated industry, preferably nuclear.
- Proven ability to deliver safe, fit-for-purpose, fully integrated and operable design solutions that meet product requirements.
- Experience producing design deliverables (product requirement specs, technical reports, calculations, drawings/layouts, installation method statements, risk assessments, design substantiation).
- Experience in mechanical piping design with knowledge of relevant standards and legislation (e.g., ASME B31.3, PER, PSSR).
- Familiarity with machine design and mechanical handling, including regulations (e.g., Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations, LOLER, PUWER).
- Familiarity with British and ISO Standards and compliance requirements.
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders across diverse technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- Experience working in integrated, multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Experience in peer reviewing/checking reports, drawings (proposal & detail), and supporting calculations.
- Experience leading a team of Designers in producing layouts, GAs, isometrics, fabrication drawings, etc.
