Overview
In this role you will develop fluid systems for nuclear engineering projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant designs. You will create 2D drawings and 3D CAD/BIM models, lead layout optimization, and participate in design and technical reviews. You will ensure adherence to standards, codes, and safety requirements while maintaining design records and supporting project targets. This position offers exposure to high-stakes infrastructure work, with opportunities for internal progression and hands-on impact on critical systems.

Responsibilities
- Develop 2D CAD drawings including PFDs and P&IDs
- Prepare 3D CAD/BIM models, plant layouts, piping design, isometrics, MTO, GA drawings
- Perform layout optimization across design phases
- Participate in 3D model reviews, layout reviews, design reviews, and technical meetings
- Ensure compliance with design safety factors, tolerances, specifications, codes, legislation and requirements
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for coordinated design
- Maintain design process records and CAD/BIM documentation
- Report status to management and meet targets for quality, time, and budget
- Support and mediate solutions with stakeholders to align on outcomes
- Adhere to H&S policies and project quality standards
Key requirements
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or similar
- Ability to work within an engineering team to realize designs
- Familiarity with 2D CAD (AutoCAD) for drawing creation
- Familiarity with 3D CAD/BIM systems (Revit, Inventor, Solidworks, Solid Edge, Siemens NX, PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D)
- Professional qualification in an engineering related field
- SC Clearance or capable of achieving it
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Delivery-focused with time and budget discipline
