Job Description

  • Own the timely delivery of defined life-cycle handover points (Design ➡️ Manufacture ➡️ Delivery ➡️ Commissioning), driving review and acceptance with all key stakeholders.
  • Manage and resolve engineering issues including Technical Queries (EQ), Early Warnings (EW), Open Points, and Design Change Requests in line with the Contract and RACI.
  • Engage approval bodies promptly when the Safety Case may be impacted.
  • Coordinate and liaise with all delivery partners, ensuring seamless information exchange and on-time role execution.
  • Establish and run a prioritisation process for queries and issues, balancing manufacturing and installation operational needs.
  • Deliver all engineering outputs to plan through strong collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure robust engineering support across all phases, including installation interfaces, with timely escalation and resolution of issues.
  • Drive Technical Acceptance delivery and associated surveillance in line with the defined framework.
  • Support management of engineering risks and opportunities, including tracking and control in ARM (where applicable).
  • Control design interfaces and supplier feedback, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
  • Support Quality Management by leading the technical resolution of manufacturing NCRs.
  • Track equipment qualification programmes, expediting engineering queries, deviations, and change activities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering technical leadership in complex, safety-critical environments — ideally in the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated field.
  • Strong understanding of integrated management systems, including policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Experience in power systems engineering and/or grid connections.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and issue resolution.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical and numerical ability.
  • Understanding of PWR design (advantageous).
  • Familiarity with EU directives, British Standards, and company procedures.
  • Degree and Chartered Engineer status (CEng) in engineering, construction, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations.

  • BPSS required.
  • Ability to travel to Assystem offices and customer sites within the UK.
  • Involvement in major UK and international nuclear projects.
  • Due to the nature of the work, applicants must meet UK residency and security clearance (minimum SC level) requirements.
