Your Future Team: We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the technical capability of our Design Authority (DA).
Your Mission: This role will be suited to engineers with experience in Electrical Design, although candidates experienced in Electrical Installation or Maintenance are also welcomed.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Excellence: Specify, produce, and assess design packages.
- Reliability & Operations: Define reliability and operational constraints.
- Maintenance Procedures: Assess work control procedures for maintenance.
- Design & Material State: Evaluate design, material state, and ageing mechanisms.
- Safety & Security: Promote safety and security culture; ensure contract outputs meet safety requirements.
Key Requirements:
- Technical Expertise: Infrastructure design and maintenance.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety and security protocols.
- Analytical Skills: Assess conditions and ageing mechanisms.
- Communication: Effective with clients and teams.
- Project Management: Manage projects and deliver on time.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Broad experience in Electrical Engineering, ideally with HV/MV and LV distribution, protection systems, C&I systems, electrical machines (synchronous motors, frequency changers, diesel alternators).
- High Hazard Industries: Experience in the nuclear industry or other high hazard environments (preferred, not essential).
- Problem-Solving: Ability to create practical, creative, and cost-effective design solutions.
- Standards: Strong understanding of British and international design standards.
- Decision-Making: Proven track record of making evidence-based decisions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Self-Management: Effective workload management and prioritization.
Qualifications & Training:
- Essential: HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. Detailed Knowledge: Design Intent for Electrical Infrastructure in the nuclear or similar industry.
- Desirable: Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience and standing. Degree or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
