Your mission
Assystem is growing fast â and our stress and structural integrity capability is growing with it. We are looking for a Senior/Principal Stress Engineer who is ready to take the next step into a technical and capability leadership role, helping to strengthen, grow and develop our UK stress engineering community. This is a hybrid role: you will deliver highâvalue technical work for clients while also shaping the direction, tools, talent and strategy of our stress capability.
What Youâll Do:
- Lead complex stress and structural integrity assessments using FEA and hand calculations
- Review and approve technical work, representing Assystem confidently with clients
- Mentor and develop engineers, building future stress specialists
- Drive capability growth â training, methods, best practices, recruitment and retention
- Support bids and business development, working closely with Engineering Directors and Sales
- Collaborate across multiâdisciplinary teams in the nuclear and defence sectors
Qualifications
What Youâll Bring:
- To lead, build and guide a community of highly skilled stress engineers
- Strong background in stress analysis / structural integrity
- Experience in the nuclear or similar highly regulated sector
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working toward it
- Ability to develop and implement technical strategy and capability development
