The RE is fully accountable for all electrical, control & instrumentation (EC&I) engineering within their area, ensuring work is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose across the full lifecycle. They provide technical leadership, set standards, oversee assurance, and retain responsibility for all engineering decisions (including delegated ones).
- Proven EC&I delivery in regulated, safety-critical environments
- Strong track record of technical accountability & decision-making
- Experience with:
- PES, Cyber, Instrumentation & Electrical Distribution
- UK compliance (UKCA, LV, EMC, Machinery)
- Plant room design & engineering governance
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams and resolving complex risks
- Working with projects, safety, regulators & assurance bodies
Essential Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering
- Extensive EC&I experience suited to a Responsible Engineer role
- Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to meet security clearance & site access requirements
- SQEP compliant with SR0696 & ED21 standards
Desirable Qualifications
- Fellowship / senior membership of a professional engineering body
- Postgraduate qualification in engineering or management
