Job Description

Assystem Energy & Infrastructure is recruiting for a Document Controller. As Document Controller, you will be responsible for the control of filing, number sorting, and retrieval of hard copy or electronically stored documentation. The documentation will be produced by the project team or technical teams, and your control of these documents should be timely, efficient, and accurate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Allocate and control the document numbering system for all project work
  • Ensure document management follows established procedures or standards (including numbering, formats, issuance, review, dispatch, recording, and archiving)
  • Maintain and manage both electronic and hard copy documents as required
  • Establish and maintain Master Document Registers in cooperation with project teams
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests for information, searches, and general support from the project or department
  • Maintain and manage Document Control systems to ensure effective information flow

Qualifications & Experience

  • Knowledge of document control and its practical application
  • Strong time management, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in Civil Nuclear or the manufacturing industry is an advantage
  • Educated to Standard Grade/GCSE level (or equivalent); ONC/HNC in Engineering, Computer Science or Science is advantageous
  • Proficiency or ability to learn spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software
  • Knowledge of configuration management would be advantageous

Security clearance This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
