The role holder will oversee and support Company-wide Information Management (IM) delivery across multi-disciplines and play a lead role in developing IM Capability for the UK organisation to meet the needs of a wide range of marquee customers. While the Head of IM does not undertake direct design responsibilities, a strong foundational understanding of design and modelling processes is essential to effectively support and guide delivery teams. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and data management workflows is highly beneficial, as the role includes supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the Common Data Environment (CDE).

Responsibilities

  • Foster a collaborative working culture by liaising and coordinating effectively with project team members and stakeholders.
  • Manage and oversee federated 3D models to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment across all disciplines.
  • Attend project and design team meetings as required, providing input on information management and model coordination.
  • Coordinate and review 3D models for clashes, leading clash detection processes and producing clear, actionable reports.
  • Establish and manage the Common Data Environment (CDE), including defining processes and procedures to enable reliable and secure information exchange between project stakeholders.
  • Define, agree, and implement the information structure for the Project Information Model (PIM), ensuring alignment with project and client requirements.
  • Receive and validate information from multiple sources, ensuring compliance with the Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and BIM Execution Plan (BEP), and advise on any non-conformance.
  • Establish and maintain robust record-keeping, archiving, and audit trail processes for the PIM.
  • Support the development and implementation of Project Information Plans (PIP) and Asset Information Plans (AIP).
  • Apply a rigorous approach to ensure that safety standards and project targets are consistently met and maintained.
  • Support legal and commercial teams in bid preparation, ensuring appropriate BIM and 3D model requirements and obligations are clearly defined.

  • Strong awareness of personal data and project data security requirements across both the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) environments, including classifications, vetting levels, SAL processes, and typical restrictions.
  • Understanding of Export Control requirements and when they apply.
  • Knowledge of UK Government Security Classifications.
  • Awareness of UK GDPR legislative requirements, with a focus on practical compliance rather than specialist expertise.
