At Assystem, our mission is to accelerate the energy transition and contribute to a sustainable future. As one of the world’s leading independent nuclear engineering and project management companies, we support governments, developers, asset owners, contractors and operators in delivering complex infrastructure across the nuclear, energy, transport, defence and infrastructure sectors. Assystem’s Environment, Consents & Engagement team provides consenting, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning and environmental advisory services across some of the UK’s most significant programmes.

The role sits within a major marine defence infrastructure programme, supporting the development and delivery of critical infrastructure within a highly secure operational environment. The programme brings together a range of defence stakeholders, client representatives, delivery partners and supply chain organisations, requiring effective coordination, collaboration and engagement across a complex programme environment.

The Analyst / Communications Generalist plays an important role in supporting stakeholder engagement, communications and interface management activities across the programme. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or someone at the early stages of their career who is looking to develop experience across communications, stakeholder engagement, reporting and programme support within the marine defence infrastructure sector.

The role is varied, combining analytical, organisational and creative responsibilities. You will support the maintenance of stakeholder data and engagement records, produce management information and reports, and develop visual communications materials to support effective programme delivery. Working closely with experienced colleagues across the programme team, you will have the opportunity to build your skills, develop your understanding of complex infrastructure programmes and contribute to a range of communications and engagement activities.

Previous experience in a similar role is not essential. We are particularly interested in individuals with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, good written communication abilities and a willingness to learn.

We are looking for an Analyst / Communications Generalist who is:

  • A graduate or early-career professional with an interest in communications, stakeholder engagement, data analysis or project support.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain accurate records, manage data and ensure information is kept up to date.
  • A confident communicator, able to turn information into clear, concise and professional reports and presentations.
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage recurring processes, reporting cycles and competing priorities.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Creative, with an eye for detail and an interest in developing engaging visual and communications materials.
  • Keen to learn, develop new skills and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining programme-level stakeholder and engagement registers, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Managing reporting processes, engagement trackers and associated programme information.
  • Producing stakeholder maps, infographics and other visual communications products as required.
  • Developing presentations, posters and wider programme communications materials.
  • Supporting the preparation of management information and regular programme reporting.
  • Working collaboratively with programme colleagues to support stakeholder engagement and interface management activities.
  • Supporting the development, review and continuous improvement of programme processes and reporting systems.

Please note that for this role, you must be eligible for Security Clearance and be a sole British national, due to security requirements of the project.

We are committed to equal treatment of candidates and promote, as well as foster all forms of diversity within our company. We believe that bringing together people with different backgrounds and perspectives is essential for creating innovative and impactful solutions. Skills, talent, and our people’s ability to dare are the only things that matter! Bring your unique contributions and help us shape the future.
