The Job Mission: This strategic leadership role centres on delivering major engineering programmes across the nuclear lifecycle.
- Lead multi-disciplinary project bids across SMR, AMR and Fusion energy.
- Be a technical authority across FMN's high-profile programmes.
- Lead strategic engineering bids and multi-disciplinary project delivery.
- Manage capability development across engineering and technical disciplines.
- Drive governance, quality compliance and SQEP competence.
- Represent Assystem in joint ventures and integrated client teams.
- Shape pursuit strategies and oversee programme delivery outcomes.
- Build trusted client relationships and influence senior decision-makers.
- Contribute to the FMN 2030 strategic growth plan.
- Support project compliance with CDM, GDA and QMS requirements.
Qualifications Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven engineering leadership in nuclear, energy, or defence sectors.
- Strong understanding of fusion and modular nuclear markets.
- Track record in engineering project and stakeholder management.
- Familiarity with UK regulatory frameworks (e.g. CDM, GDA).
- Ability to lead teams in complex, regulated environments.
- Degree-qualified in engineering (or equivalent).
- Experienced in performance management and people development.
- Comfortable working in consortia and JV settings.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP).
- Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and risk/change control.
