To achieve this, our 7,500 Switchers combine their historical engineering expertise and project management with digital technologies. In our 12 countries (Europe, Middle East, Asia) of operation, we are working on the production and distribution of low-carbon electricity, through the development of nuclear and renewable energies.
We are recruiting for an Ecologist / ECoW to join our talented Ecology team at Assystem. We support both major commercial developments through to major infrastructure projects providing relevant surveys, assessments, site-based support, biodiversity net gain and urban greening factor assessment. Initially, we require a Graduate/ Assistant Consultant Ecologist to support our client on the construction of High Speed 2.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Assessing, managing and monitoring ecological constraints.
- Delivering concise ecological advice to clients to manage ecological compliance during construction.
- Assisting the Consent team/work with sub-contractors in monitoring ecology compliance and undertaking inspections.
- Providing advice to the site production teams regarding ecological constraints, toolbox talks and watching briefs.
The role includes:
- Ecological surveys prior to site clearance.
- Site checks for protected and notable species.
- Investigating and reporting on ecological incidents.
- Liaising with the client’s core environment & sustainability and project management teams.
- Conducting proactive ecological risk management.
- Delivering Toolbox Talks and other pertinent ecological information.
- Attending ECoW meetings and undertaking any actions outlined from these sessions.
- Analysing and interpreting ecological data.
- Delivering concise weekly reporting.
- Actively helping to deliver a culture of continual improvement of on-site ecological practice that is solution-orientated to support construction teams.
- Contributing to wider business development activity.
Qualifications: Relevant degree.
