Job Description
Join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit! You will join an expanding team to support the development and delivery of work packages for our nuclear, marine, and O&G clients based around our Sunderland office. The role supports Hybrid working.
As a Mechanical Engineer your role will include:
- Leading project tasks: Manage and plan projects for a team of engineers while coordinating with project management facilities.
- Producing engineering solutions: Deliver high-quality engineering solutions across a wide range of topics and activities.
- Provide feedback on technical development and project delivery to the Lead Engineer and Project Manager.
- Offer technical guidance and support to team members, especially junior or graduate engineers.
- Efficiently manage your time to meet agreed deadlines, target costs, and quality standards with minimal supervision.

Qualifications
- Minimum 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Relevant senior engineering experience in sectors like offshore, renewables, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries.
- Solid background in mechanical and structural engineering.
- Proficient with CAD software: Skilled in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia.
- Experienced with MathCAD software.
- Expertise in creating design and substantiation reports, assembly procedures, etc.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes: Understanding of welding, machining, etc.
- Experienced with the engineering design cycle from Concept to Manufacture.
- Familiar with European and Offshore standards: Master's degree is a plus.
- Skilled in checking and approving engineering CAD assemblies and drawings.
- Proficient in verifying engineering documentation: Manual calculations, reports, etc.
- Excellent Finite Element Analysis skills.
