Assystem mobilizes 8,000 experts in 13 countries and intervenes across the entire project lifecycle, in engineering, project management and digital solutions.

In this role, you will be working with our experienced Simulation and Assessment team to deliver projects such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) assessments of components for nuclear components to design codes such as ASME III or RCC-M. This includes planning, delivery and reporting of the projects, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders such as the customer’s technical leads. This role may include both working within client teams as part of an integrated embedded team, and delivering Assystem projects from one of our offices.

Qualifications
  • Excellent technical fundamentals – aptitude for calculations, appreciation of structures, mechanics and fluids, an ability to ‘sense-check’ analysis results.
  • Hands‑on experience of computer based modelling codes such as Abaqus, Ansys, Nastran, CFD etc.
  • Appreciation of code assessments in a safety related industry, for example ASME, RCC-M, KTA or comparable codes from other sectors.
  • Engineering Degree (or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving license and ability to travel within the UK.
  • Previous experience in similar roles in the nuclear or fusion industry.
  • Hands‑on experience of 3D modelling in CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, Catia or SolidWorks.
  • Experience of fluid-modelling such as CFD, or dynamic modelling such as LS‑Dyna or Radioss.
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status.

  • Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
