Overview

In this role you will design and deliver fluid system solutions within a nuclear engineering context. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams and suppliers to create robust 2D and 3D designs, ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery that aligns with project goals. You’ll participate in design reviews and maintain documentation to support regulatory compliance. This position offers hands-on impact in shaping plant layouts and piping systems within a global engineering community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 2D CAD drawings including PFD and P&ID
  • Prepare 3D CAD/BIM models, plant layouts, piping design, isometrics, MTO, GA drawings and sketches
  • Perform layout optimization across design phases
  • Participate in 3D model reviews, layout reviews, design reviews and technical meetings
  • Ensure compliance with design safety factors, tolerances, specifications, standards, codes and legislation
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for coordinated design
  • Maintain design process records and update CAD/BIM documentation databases
  • Report status to management and align with stakeholders
  • Meet targets for quality, time and budget; support and mediate resolution of issues
  • Ensure adherence to H&S policies and project quality requirements

Key requirements

  • Previous experience as Mechanical Design Engineer or similar
  • Ability to work within a design team
  • Familiarity with 2D CAD systems (AutoCAD)
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD/BIM systems (Revit, Inventor, Solidworks, Solid Edge, Siemens NX, PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D)
  • Professional qualification in an engineering related field
  • SC Clearance or capable of achieving it
  • Good communication skills, written and oral
  • Delivery focus within time and budget
