Job Mission
Working on a major Nuclear Power Plant project, the Solution Architect will support the delivery of complex digital and enterprise technology solutions across the project programme. The role will focus on designing, governing, and integrating technology solutions that support engineering, construction, operations, and corporate functions within a highly regulated nuclear environment. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, engineering partners, cybersecurity specialists, and third‑party suppliers to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned with programme objectives.
- Design and govern enterprise technology solutions supporting major nuclear infrastructure programmes.
- Define end‑to‑end solution architectures across enterprise applications, infrastructure and cloud services.
- Translate business and operational requirements into scalable technical solution designs.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, governance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Design integrated solutions across Azure, PLM, EDRMS and enterprise technology platforms.
- Lead technical governance reviews, design assurance and architecture approval activities.
- Support integration between engineering systems, ERP, project controls and operational technologies.
- Produce architecture documentation including solution diagrams, data flows and interface specifications.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies and mitigation strategies across solution delivery activities.
- Support supplier evaluations, procurement activities and technical assessment processes.
- Contribute to operational readiness, transition planning and service support model development.
Qualifications Experience and Knowledge
- Proven experience delivering solution architecture within regulated infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and systems integration practices.
- Experience designing cloud, enterprise application and cybersecurity technology solutions.
- Azure Expert Certification with strong Microsoft cloud platform knowledge.
- Experience working across complex multi‑vendor delivery and stakeholder environments.
- Strong communication and governance documentation capabilities.
- Familiarity with TOGAF, Azure architecture and structured delivery methodologies.
- Ability to balance technical, operational and regulatory project requirements effectively.
Sector and Compliance Experience
- Experience within nuclear, defence, utilities or critical infrastructure sectors.
- Understanding of operational technology and industrial control systems environments.
- Knowledge of UK nuclear cybersecurity and regulatory compliance expectations.
- Relevant certifications including TOGAF, ITIL, CISSP or AWS Solutions Architect.
- Experience with engineering information systems or construction management platform.
