Job Description
- Responsible for the timely delivery of defined life-cycle handover points (i.e. design > manufacture > delivery > commissioning) and expediting the review and acceptance by the associated stakeholders.
- Responsible for managing and resolving engineering issues (Technical Queries (EQ), Early Warning (EW), Open Points and design change requests) as they arise in support of the delivery according to the Contract and relevant RACI.
- Responsible for engaging appropriate approval bodies when the Safety Case is potentially impacted.
- Responsible for liaison with all parties contributing to the delivery of works, ensuring that information is exchanged as required and that all parties deliver their roles to plan.
- Set up a process to prioritise queries and issues to discharge resolution in the most effective manner taking into consideration operational needs for manufacturing and installation.
- Deliver to plan all engineering deliverables, through collaboration and support from key stakeholders.
- Ensure that proper engineering support is provided throughout all activities by all design contributors, including interfacing topics during the installation phase and that issues are escalated and responded to in a timely manner.
- Ensure delivery to plan of the Technical Acceptance and associated surveillance within the framework defined.
- Support in the management of Engineering-related risks and opportunities, and their associated management in ARM (where applicable).
- Ensure design interfaces and supplier feedback are effectively managed and controlled.
- Support the Quality Management Lead by driving the technical resolution of manufacturing NCRs.
- Follow-up equipment qualification programmes to expedite related engineering issues (queries, deviations, changes etc).

Qualifications
- Proven experience of delivering technical leadership in projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment, whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.
- Demonstrable awareness of integrated management system and the different policies, procedures, standards and documents applicable to technical and contractual management.
- Demonstrate significant expertise in relevant technical discipline.
- Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders and facilitating issues resolution.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all project team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Detailed understanding of PWR/EPR design and experience in PWR/EPR construction an advantage.
- Proven knowledge and experience of using the EU directives, British Standards and company standards and procedures.
- Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction or other related field.
- Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Knowledge and / or practitioner of Project Management with experience of applying either; APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2.
Additional Information
- BPSS and SC required.
- Ability to travel Assystem offices and customer sites within UK.
- To undertake work packages supporting major UK and international Nuclear Clients.
- Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
