Area Engineering Manager – Warrington (Contract Inside IR35) or Permanent

Responsibilities
- Lead and direct a multi-disciplinary engineering team to:
- Deliver the Stage 3 Define phase onwards in line with agreed project schedule and cost
- Drive engineering teams to optimise the Stage 2 Appraise and select a single preferred solution, and produce a Stage 3 Preliminary Design
- Complete preliminary design assurance activities in line with the agreed Risk-Based Assurance Strategy
- Act as Area Engineering Manager (AEM), leading multidiscipline teams responsible for estimating, scheduling, forecasting, and producing agreed design deliverables
- Manage the DSA teams in the production of deliverables
- Identify and allocate additional resource demand where required to ensure all deliverables can be originated and checked in accordance with project schedule dates
- Interface with other Project Discipline Leads within the project(s)
- Engage and interface with site clients and stakeholders
- Support the production of Stage 4 delivery estimates and schedule, with input into the commercial engagement of suppliers in the Define phase
- Work collaboratively with the fully integrated project team—including construction, commissioning, pre-ops, human factors, and client stakeholders—to ensure functional requirements are met (Constructability, Commissionability, HAZCON, conventional safety, environmental)
Qualifications
- Engineering background with a proven record of successful delivery, including recent roles influencing professional engineers and guiding technical personnel
- Significant experience in an engineering design environment, with engineering knowledge as a key attribute and proven project delivery across the full project lifecycle
- Recent experience within a regulated and quality-assured system (preferably nuclear), where professional engineering judgement was key
- Knowledge and understanding of governing laws, regulations, and standards for the nuclear industry (equivalent experience from other industries will be considered)
- Experience with Project System Engineering and the system engineering approach to design
- Familiarity with NEC3 contract terms and conditions
- Experience in the delivery of projects related to cooling systems and CE&I power distribution

- Due to the nature of work to be undertaken, applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level
