Job Description: As part of a growing account, Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are looking to increase the size of their Derby site team to respond to an increase in workload and are recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
- Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability, and safety

Qualifications Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the nuclear sector
- Understanding of mechanical design, safety case, operation, (precision, cleanliness requirements, damage prevention) and LfE capture
- Previous experience with Technical Document Authoring, Substantiation and Presenting
- Understanding of Nuclear Health & Safety, i.e. understanding of safety case requirements (Safety Functional Requirements, Engineering Schedules and criticality prevention)
- Previous exposure to Chemical Plant, Glovebox’s and associated processes would be an advantage along with an understanding of Welding, NDT techniques
- Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
- Knowledge of engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar)
- BEng or similar professional qualification in an engineering related field
