Assystem is seeking an Asset Compliance Assurance Manager to support our work within the Defence sector. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of independent assurance that infrastructure assets are managed, maintained and reported in compliance with statutory, regulatory and nuclear safety requirements.

The successful candidate will play a key role in assuring that Examination, Inspection, Testing and Maintenance (EIMT) and wider statutory compliance activities delivered by the Maintenance Management Organisation (MMO) are effective, evidenced and accurately reported. They will analyse compliance data, review assurance evidence and provide confidence that compliance arrangements are robust, risks are effectively managed and assurance information can be relied upon across governance forums and integrated management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of independent assurance reviews, assessments and audits of MMO compliance arrangements to confirm statutory, regulatory and nuclear safety requirements are being met.
  • Request, review and evaluate records, documentation and evidence from the MMO to support assurance activities and compliance verification.
  • Assess compliance data and assurance information to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of Examination, Inspection, Testing and Maintenance (EIMT) and wider statutory compliance activities.
  • Coordinate the collation, validation and presentation of compliance evidence for governance forums, including the SIMM.
  • Represent the Asset Compliance Lead on asset compliance assurance matters, liaising with functional leads, regulators and key stakeholders as required.
  • Provide assurance that compliance risks are identified, managed and appropriately escalated.
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of compliance reporting processes, assurance frameworks and integrated management systems, including the Client Safety Management System.
  • Review and interpret asset compliance information to provide confidence in the accuracy, completeness and reliability of compliance reporting.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Essential: Knowledge of infrastructure compliance arrangements.
  • Desirable: Experience of working with the Ministry of Defence / HM Government; Experience of working in highly regulated environments; Background in infrastructure (buildings, jetties, assets on the waterfront); Compliance checking experience; Electrical testing, EICR, EMIT, Legionella experience; MOD background; Understanding of UK Legislation, MoD policies and Nuclear regulations.

Qualifications & Training:

  • Essential: Degree level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.

Umbrella contractor role. SC Clearance required to start. Mainly remote role with a maximum of 1-2 days/week in Helensburgh (negotiable).
