Overview
- Define & Manage Requirements: Review, refine, and document high-level electrical requirements, ensuring they are testable and align with project needs. Capture constraints, interfaces, and quality attributes using structured processes (e.g., IBM DOORS).
- Design, Analyze & Verify: Develop and implement robust electrical system/component designs that meet project specifications. Conduct functional analysis, modeling, and simulation to validate performance. Define and execute verification activities in collaboration with the Verification team, ensuring compliance through rigorous testing.
- Ensure Compliance & Quality: Maintain engineering excellence throughout the SMR project lifecycle. Conduct technical reviews, provide key inputs to project technical review gates, and ensure designs meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Support Strategy & Risk Management: Participate in capacity planning and contribute to long-term strategic goals. Identify potential risks, implement mitigation strategies, and support decision-making to enhance project success.
- Develop & Share Knowledge: Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and best practices. Develop training materials and tools to support knowledge sharing across teams. Provide expert advice to project teams and integrated product teams (IPT).
- Collaborate & Represent: Work closely with internal engineering teams to drive standardization and a commoditized approach to system and component development. Represent the electrical engineering function in meetings, working groups, and external engagements with regulators, customers, and suppliers.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in building electrical services design
- Expertise in space management, cable routing, and cable management
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Degree in a relevant discipline
- Ability to travel to Assystem offices and customer sites within the UK
- Previous experience in electrical power generation or the nuclear sector is an advantage
