We are recruiting a skilled EC&I Engineer to support a diverse portfolio of Defence work packages. You will work across the full engineering lifecycle - from shaping early requirements and system concepts through to detailed design and technical assurance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, producing high-quality engineering outputs, and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver robust and compliant solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Apply systematic engineering approaches to ensure designs are safe, fit for purpose, compliant with requirements, and delivered within agreed cost and schedule.
  • Shape EC&I and control system concepts from early requirements through to detailed design.
  • Translate operational and stakeholder needs into practical, robust and compliant architectures.
  • Define system-level EC&I and control requirements through structured requirements capture.
  • Prepare specifications, design schemes, engineering calculations and substantiation to support designs and safety cases.
  • Produce engineering deliverables including Block Cable Diagrams, Single Line Diagrams, I/O schedules, Cable Schedules and Termination drawings.
  • Demonstrate understanding of relevant legislation and standards, including BS 7671 Wiring/Installation Regulations and the Low Voltage Directive (LVD).
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across a range of Defence project types.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering colleagues and stakeholders.
