This is a predominantly site-based role at Hinkley Point C, with candidates required to live within commutable distance of Bridgwater or be open to relocation support. You will support mechanical construction delivery across a complex nuclear site and act as a key engineering interface between contractors and design teams.
Responsibilities
- Support mechanical installation activities across HVAC, pipework, or equipment systems
- Act as a contractor-facing engineering point of contact for site queries
- Review mechanical drawings and layouts for constructability and site constraints
- Interface with engineers to resolve design and installation issues
- Support management of technical queries, non-conformances, and design changes
- Coordinate mechanical interfaces with other engineering disciplines
- Support installation sequencing, access planning, and site readiness activities
- Participate in site walkdowns, inspections, and technical discussions
- Ensure works comply with nuclear safety, quality, and configuration requirements
Nuclear experience is not essential, but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment, your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us. Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience supporting mechanical works on construction or infrastructure projects
- Exposure to mechanical design, layout, or engineering documentation
- Experience responding to site queries and technical clarifications
- Confidence working directly with contractors and site teams
- Understanding of multidisciplinary engineering interfaces
- Experience working within regulated or safety-critical environments
- Ability to work with controlled documentation and change processes
