The Job Mission
You will help ensure that all construction works comply with contract specifications through robust quality surveillance. You’ll support project progress by identifying risks before they arise and maintaining inspection records. Based 75% on-site, this role is pivotal to upholding HPC’s nuclear safety and quality culture.
- Perform site surveillance and verify contractor compliance with work specifications
- Report and escalate non-conformance issues to Quality and Construction teams
- Monitor and input into Quality KPIs with timely and accurate reporting
- Review and validate Quality Control Plans and Inspection Records
- Prevent unauthorised in-field design changes by enforcing formal review processes
- Ensure pre-cover inspections are completed and documentation is agreed
- Maintain visibility of future works to anticipate risks and resource needs
- Support resolution of issues without halting work, always protecting safety and quality
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent welding inspection certification
Quality assurance/control experience on major construction projects
Understanding of pressure systems and piping/welded steelwork
Familiarity with RCC-M, BS EN, ASME codes and QA/QC documentation
Strong site-based experience with fabrication/installation inspections
Proficient in writing accurate, concise site reports and diaries
Broad engineering construction industry knowledge across materials and methods
Desired Skills and Qualifications
CSWIP 3.2, IWS or higher welding/NDT qualifications
Appreciation of NDT methods and safety documentation
Knowledge of reinforcement cage fabrication or structural steel interfaces
Familiarity with bilingual site communication (French a plus)
Prior experience on nuclear or large-scale infrastructure projects
