Job Description
This role is based in Bridgwater, so we can consider candidates within commutable distance, or those open to relocating with support. You will support the instrumentation and controls commissioning delivery across complex plant systems. You will coordinate testing, integration, readiness and handover activities.
Your role will include:
- Lead I&C commissioning activities across multiple integrated plant systems.
- Plan commissioning sequences supporting energisation and handover milestones.
- Oversee loop checks, functional testing and integrated commissioning.
- Review commissioning procedures, vendor documents and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with construction, operations, mechanical and electrical teams.
- Ensure activities follow nuclear safety and project procedures.
- Support DCS, PLC, SIS and field instrumentation commissioning.
- Lead technical fault finding and issue resolution activities.
- Report commissioning progress, readiness, risks and project constraints.
- Manage commissioning records, punch lists and system handover.
Qualifications
Nuclear experience is not essential, but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment, your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us. We also recognise that the perfect candidate rarely exists. If you feel you meet around 80% of the criteria and are motivated to develop further, we would strongly encourage you to apply.
- I&C commissioning experience in complex industrial environments.
- Strong DCS, PLC, SIS or instrumentation knowledge.
- Experience leading commissioning teams or technical scopes.
- Understanding of testing, handover and operational readiness.
- Knowledge of permit-to-work and isolation processes.
- Comfortable managing priorities across concurrent workstreams.
- Able to review procedures and technical documentation.
- Strong stakeholder coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience resolving technical issues during commissioning delivery.
- Degree or equivalent experience in relevant engineering discipline.
