Your future team: Due to rapidly increasing demands for new plant and equipment in the defence industry, as well as life extension programmes for existing plant, our structural integrity experts are in high demand, and we need a technical leader to drive that growth.
- Mentor and grow future technical leaders
Your Missions:
- Serve as the go-to expert for Structural Integrity. Troubleshoot issues, give technical advice, and review analysis & progress.
- Review calculations and reports, and confidently represent Assystem in client meetings.
- Act as an Independent Technical Approver, ensuring high technical standards.
- Use Finite Element Analysis and hand calcs to prove structural integrity to international standards, including pressure vessel & defect tolerance codes.
- Work closely with safety case authors and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Help drive bids, proposals, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers, shaping the next generation of integrity professionals.

We Want Someone Who Can...
- Lead on structural integrity with modern techniques.
- Own assessments using top tools & standards.
- Mentor junior engineers & lead technically.
- Work directly with clients to solve problems.
- Expert in FE analysis for strength, fatigue, defects, and service life.
- Skilled in ASME III/VIII, API-579, BS7910, BS7608 (R3/R5/R6 a plus).
- Bonus: experience in CFD, dynamics, fatigue, degradation mechanisms is highly desirable.
- Must have nuclear sector experience.
Your Toolbox Should Include...
- Eng. degree + CEng.
- Experience in nuclear SSC assessments.
- Strong communicator with commercial awareness.
- Expert in ABAQUS (or ANSYS, Dyna, etc.).
- Used Altair Hyperworks or similar tools.
- Familiar with code assessments (ASME, PD5500, BS2573, BS EN 13001).
- Know manufacturing methods, materials, inspections.
Security Clearance: This role requires the successful candidate to hold (or be able to obtain) a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a sole UK national.
