The Job Mission
Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional looking to play a key role in one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects? We’re looking for a Health & Safety Compliance Manager to lead and champion safety across Digital IT contractors supporting the Sizewell C (SZC) programme. This is a unique opportunity to influence safety culture in a complex, high-profile environment where your expertise will directly contribute to the safe delivery of a nationally important project.
Role Purpose
As Health & Safety Compliance Manager, you will be the go-to expert for all health, safety, and environmental matters across Digital IT contractor activities. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance, minimise risk, and continuously improve safety performance. You’ll have real influence—shaping policies, guiding leadership, and ensuring contractors operate to the highest standards.
Key Objectives
- Ensure all Digital IT contractors comply with SZC policies and statutory requirements
- Develop and maintain robust risk assessments and contractor risk registers
- Lead audits, inspections, and incident investigations
- Monitor contractor performance and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Support the IT Lead in meeting their legal health & safety responsibilities
- Deliver guidance, training, and support to contractors and internal teams
- Collaborate with SZC Health & Safety teams and key stakeholders across the project
- Understand and become proficient on internal digital systems
- Reviewing and auditing contractor RAMS on a digital system
Site Based Responsibilities
- Attend site a minimum of three days per week to provide direct Health and Safety support
- Participate in stakeholder meetings, contractor reviews and Health and Safety activities to understand delivery needs and challenges
- Represent the Health and Safety function in contract reviews and monthly compliance meetings

- NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience in health & safety compliance and management

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Skills in understanding and interpreting RAMS in a digital infrastructure environment
- Good knowledge and understanding of general CDM regulations, especially in respect of health and safety compliance.
Desired Skills
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, and digital/IT environments
- Knowledge of working with contractors in complex project settings
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management or a Related Field
