Job Description
This is a hybrid role with regular site presence in Bristol, so candidates must be within commutable distance or open to supported relocation. You will support electrical design activities across design and construction interfaces on a major nuclear project. The role focuses on producing and coordinating electrical design deliverables, with particular emphasis on cabling, layouts, and design consistency rather than heavy calculations.
- Develop and coordinate electrical design deliverables for power and auxiliary systems
- Produce and review electrical layouts, cable routing, and associated design documentation
- Prepare design outputs to support cable lists, voltage plans, and construction activities
- Coordinate electrical design interfaces with EC&I, mechanical, and layout teams
- Ensure electrical designs are suitable for construction and installation constraints
- Manage design changes, technical queries, and open points through controlled processes
- Track design maturity and support reporting against project milestones
- Review contractor design submissions for technical consistency and quality
- Support handover of electrical design information to site and construction teams
Qualifications
Nuclear experience is not essential, but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment, your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us. We also recognise that the perfect candidate rarely exists. If you feel you meet around 80% of the criteria and are motivated to develop further, we would strongly encourage you to apply.
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Experience in an electrical design or engineering role
- Exposure to electrical layouts, cabling design, or routing activities
- Experience producing structured electrical design documentation
- Understanding of design outputs used for construction and site activities
- Experience managing design changes, interfaces, or technical queries
- Comfortable working with design trackers, reports, and schedules
- Experience working within regulated or quality-driven environments
