The Senior Quality Engineer (LTQR Manager) supports client projects within Multi‑Disciplinary Teams (MDTs), providing high‑quality management and control across documents, records and physical samples. The role ensures full compliance with LTQR processes, EDF/NNB procedures, and regulatory requirements, including LC6.
Operating Environment
Preferably HPC‑site based (Bridgwater), with flexibility to work from other offices or supplier locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- LTQR & Documentation Management
- Lead the LTQR process across the project lifecycle, including identifying required documentation and physical samples during contractor on‑boarding.
- Develop partitioning strategies and ensure accurate LDRC population and metadata quality.
- Track all required record submissions in line with LTQRs, LDRCs, scheduled dates, and project milestones.
- Organise and manage timely document reviews to ensure compliance, verification, and correct upload into EDRMS.
- Produce and manage LTQR technical and non‑technical checklists, ensuring correct filing and traceability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Project, Quality, and Completions Managers to ensure Works Information (WI) contains all required handover content.
- Liaise with Construction, Engineering, Project Management and Tier 1 Contractors to ensure clear linkage of all LTQRs (including offsite and onsite manufactured records).
- Represent the LTQR team at Quality Boards and other relevant meetings, providing clear reporting on LTQR progress, risks, and schedule alignment.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage Record Support Officers to ensure efficient review, approval, and delivery of LTQRs supporting installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Drive continuous improvements in LTQR processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Compliance & Regulatory Assurance
- Ensure all contractors and MDT members understand LTQR requirements and LC6 obligations.
- Deliver briefings, training, refresher sessions, and support audits (e.g., Supply Chain, LTQR, LC6, ONR).
- Support the development, maintenance, and improvement of LTQR surveillance, RFT/FOAK processes, and modulated review approaches.
- Tools, Systems & Process Development
- Support review tools and solutions for Lead Reviewers and QMLs.
- Assist with Asset Suite, Switch, and other LTQR systems; contribute to bulk acceptance container construction and LTQR processing.
- Maintain and develop training schemes for LTQR systems.
- Recommend improvements to EDRMS data and reporting across all LTQR‑related tools.
- Procedure & Lifecycle Management
- Contribute to revisions of NNB procedures, specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Project teams to manage the full lifecycle of records—creation, classification, retention, retrieval, preservation, and disposal—to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and preserve essential project information.
Holds Chartered Quality Professional status. Ability to provide clear guidance and support on procedural requirements essential for successful LTQR processes and completions. Experience of successfully completing areas of projects with a value of £50M to 100M or similar sized complex projects (£1B – £3B). Experience in the installation and erection of large Petro-chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical plant (with nuclear experience being an advantage). Ability to work effectively within a Multi‑Disciplined Team (MDT) and coordinate activities with wider NNB departments and Contractor Partners. Strong relationship‑building skills, with the confidence to collaborate across diverse internal and external stakeholder groups. Skilled in liaising with Construction, Project, and Contractor personnel to ensure the logical and sequential collation of all required documentation for completions. Results‑focused mindset with the ability to use initiative, demonstrate ownership, and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality outcomes. Forward‑thinking and strategically minded, able to contribute to the evolution of processes and procedures to meet project needs and ensure compliance with LC6. Open and responsive to change, actively encouraging innovation, new ideas, and continuous improvement. Capable of making sound, considered decisions within the boundaries of approved procedures and regulatory requirements. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
