Job Description

This is a hybrid role requiring regular presence near Bridgwater, with relocation support available where appropriate. Working as a Piping Engineer, this role supports the client organisation in delivering compliant and effective piping systems. The position focuses on resolving engineering issues, supporting installation activities, and contributing to safe, high-quality project delivery.

  • Support resolution of technical queries, non-conformances, and design changes
  • Assist in ensuring piping systems meet safety and regulatory requirements
  • Review technical documentation to support alignment with engineering standards
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to coordinate technical inputs
  • Track and support closure of technical issues and outstanding queries
  • Identify and escalate risks related to piping installation and design
  • Interface with Responsible Designers and multidisciplinary stakeholders
  • Provide updates and progress reports to senior engineering team members
  • Support installation readiness and constructability across site activities
  • Assist with inspection activities, including NDT methods and quality checks

Nuclear experience is not essential, but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment, your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us.

  • Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in piping design, installation, or site engineering
  • Understanding of codes and standards such as ASME, EN, BS, CDM
  • Awareness of inspection techniques, including basic NDT methods
  • Experience working on construction or large infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering environments
  • Understanding of welding processes and basic quality requirements
  • Some site-based experience supporting installation or construction
