This is a hybrid role, requiring regular presence near Bridgwater or relocation within reasonable commuting distance. You will support the commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring safe and compliant delivery across key project stages, and will work closely with experienced engineers, gaining hands-on exposure to testing, documentation, and system validation.
- Support commissioning activities in line with safety and quality standards
- Assist preparation of commissioning procedures, test documentation, and records
- Contribute to commissioning readiness reviews and system walkdowns on site
- Support factory acceptance tests alongside suppliers and senior engineers
- Assist coordination of commissioning sequences and test programme activities
- Work with contractors during commissioning activities under supervision
- Review and record test results, highlighting issues to senior engineers
- Support production of commissioning reports and technical documentation
Nuclear experience is not essential, but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment, your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us. We also recognise that the perfect candidate rarely exists. If you feel you meet around 80% of the criteria and are motivated to develop further, we would strongly encourage you to apply.
- Degree or equivalent in Electrical or related engineering discipline
- Understanding of electrical systems within industrial environments
- Exposure to commissioning, testing, or installation activities
- Familiar with electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Knowledge of health, safety, and quality standards on projects
- Ability to work effectively within structured engineering teams
- Experience in regulated industries is beneficial but not required
