Job Description

We are currently seeking a

Construction Manager (CM) to join our embedded delivery team supporting Westinghouse projects.

This role forms part of the integrated Construction Delivery function, operating within the Site Construction Directorate and working directly with the Principal Contractor.

The CM will lead a defined section of construction works within the Fuels site, interfacing with multiple design and installation contracts and contributing to the successful delivery of one of the UK’s most significant nuclear programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate construction activity delivery across allocated areas.
  • Act as the construction lead within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), reporting into a Construction Lead accountable for delivery.
  • Oversee site activities including Construction Management, constructability of preliminary designs, site safety, logistics, planning, safety, and quality performance.
  • Oversee implementation of construction site processes.
  • Ensure compliance with project procedures, regulatory requirements, and Principal Contractor duties.
  • Provide leadership and line management for Construction Delivery Managers (CDMs), supporting their development and competency.
  • Conduct safety and assurance inspections, ensuring alignment with Assystem’s safety tools and processes.
  • Chair and contribute to daily/weekly delivery planning meetings (e. g. PLOWs), ensuring short-term work coordination supports long-term objectives.
  • Drive site-wide integration of construction sequencing, recovery planning, and resource strategy across your area.
  • Represent the construction function in key forums and support consistent reporting to the client.
  • Profile and Experience Required
  • Substantial experience delivering complex infrastructure or nuclear projects within regulated environments as a Construction Manager.
  • Demonstrable understanding of NEC contracts and large‑scale programme delivery constraints.
  • Skilled in leadership, coordination, reporting, and stakeholder management across multidisciplinary environments.
  • Sound commercial awareness, especially regarding construction delivery and contract interface.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to generate clear and concise reports.

Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and obtain necessary site security clearances.
