We are seeking an Assistant Commercial Management Consultant to join our London team on a hybrid basis. This is an entry-level role offering the opportunity to build a career in commercial management and auditing within highly regulated sectors such as nuclear and infrastructure. You will support the delivery of commercial services across projects and programmes, working alongside experienced consultants. Your involvement will include cost planning and management, procurement support, contract administration, measurement and quantification, and cost verification. You will also assist in preparing reports and analysis, ensuring outputs are clear, accurate and aligned to client requirements.

The role will see you working with project and cost data to support decision making, while developing your understanding of commercial principles, contract frameworks and project controls. You will contribute to financial and schedule tracking, operate within defined constraints, and escalate risks or issues where needed. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders while supporting senior team members in delivering project outcomes. You will also be expected to follow Assystem’s processes and maintain awareness of relevant standards and compliance requirements. This position provides a clear pathway for development, with the expectation that you will build experience and progress towards Consultant level over time.

You will have a relevant degree (or be working towards one) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering or a related discipline, or hold an HNC/HND (or equivalent) with relevant experience. This role is suited to those at an early stage in their career, including graduates, apprentices or similar. You should have a basic understanding of commercial principles, supported by strong analytical and organisational skills. Clear communication, both written and numerical, is essential, along with confidence using tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

We are looking for someone who is professional, reliable and keen to develop, with a collaborative approach and the ability to work in a deadline driven environment. An interest in working towards a professional qualification (e.g. RICS, CICES, CIOB) is desirable. You should be willing to work in highly regulated environments, committed to health, safety and quality standards, and flexible to travel or attend client sites as required.

Diversity & Inclusion

We are committed to equal treatment of candidates and foster all forms of diversity within our company. Bringing together people with different backgrounds and perspectives is essential for creating innovative and impactful solutions. Skills, talent, and the ability to dare are what matter most. Bring your unique contributions and help us shape the future.
