This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, large-scale projects with significant environmental, ecological, and community considerations, helping to shape the relationship between infrastructure, landscape, and place.
As a Landscape Architect, you will:
- Develop and deliver landscape design strategies, masterplans, and detailed landscape proposals.
- Produce concept, schematic, and detailed design packages using industry-standard CAD and design software.
- Carry out site appraisals, landscape analysis, and feasibility studies to inform design proposals.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to create integrated and coordinated design solutions.
- Prepare high-quality technical drawings, specifications, reports, and construction documentation.
- Manage projects from initial brief through to completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, presenting design proposals and responding positively to feedback.
- Champion sustainable design principles, biodiversity, and environmental best practice throughout every project.
- Ensure designs comply with UK planning legislation, building regulations, and local authority requirements.
- Continue to develop your professional portfolio while staying up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practice in landscape architecture and urban design.
You’ll ideally have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in landscape design and masterplanning within a consultancy or professional practice.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or equivalent CAD and GIS software, along with design visualisation tools.
- A strong understanding of landscape design principles, ecology, sustainability, and environmental planning.
- Knowledge of UK planning regulations, building standards, and local authority processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with confidence presenting ideas to clients and stakeholders.
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A high-quality portfolio showcasing your landscape design experience and creative approach.
It would be advantageous if you also have:
- A Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
- Chartered status or membership with the Landscape Institute (LI), RIBA, IFLA, or another relevant professional body.
- Experience delivering large-scale or complex projects across London or the South East.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and 3D visualisation software.
- Experience working with heritage assets and listed buildings.
- Public consultation and community engagement experience.
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance strategies and horticultural specifications.
Minimum 2 days per week in office in London, or on-site.
