Your future team: Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will be providing quality assurance and quality control support and expertise to infrastructure projects for a major client within the Defence Infrastructure sector. You will be working within a joint project team made up of personnel from different companies and their supply chains, all working to support right first-time delivery.
Your missions: As a Quality Engineer you will be required to provide quality assurance and quality control support and expertise, support flow-down of quality requirements to the supply chain and work collaboratively with your peers to ensure that all learning from experience is captured, shared, and incorporated into future works. Typical activities will include:
- Supporting the Quality Manager / Project Management and Functional Leads in establishing the necessary project procedures, processes and plans to meet programme requirements.
- Reviewing enquiry, tender and contract documentation (e.g. ITPs, Quality Plans, Specifications) with respect to quality requirements and client specific contract specifications.
- Planning and managing on-site inspections and surveillance of supplier QA/QC activities in collaboration with project site teams.
- Conducting internal quality and supplier audits/health checks in accordance with the agreed audit schedule to verify compliance with procedures and identify process improvements.
- Monitoring product quality verification activities including surveillance of supplier site installation/manufacturing, Factory Acceptance Tests, Release Inspections to ensure products and services comply with contractual requirements.
- Supporting the capture and tracking of quality-related risks and opportunities, non-conformances (NCRs) and Defect Notifications.
Qualifications: Hold a relevant HNC (i.e., Level 4 or higher) qualification in an engineering discipline, or demonstrate equivalent experience. Full understanding and implementation of quality management systems (ISO 9001:2015). Demonstrable experience in quality engineering roles gained from involvement with multiple projects and domains. Experience on large scale construction projects (>£1bn).
