Your Mission: We are seeking a highly knowledgeable NEC4 professional to take the lead in developing, coordinating, and reviewing engineering contract scope documentation. If you have a strong background in NEC4 contracts, procurement, and technical documentation, this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape complex engineering projects within a high-profile environment.
About the Role: As an NEC4 Contract Scope Author, you will work closely with the Engineering, Commercial, and Project Management teams to ensure contract scope documentation is comprehensive, clear, and aligned with project requirements. Your expertise in NEC4 contracts will be critical in supporting procurement activities from initial requirements through to contract award.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and author NEC4 engineering contract scope documentation
- Coordinate and collate inputs from engineering, quality, project controls, and commercial specialists
- Ensure compliance with NEC4 contract structures and best practices
- Peer review contract scope documents to ensure clarity and accuracy
- Assess supplier tender proposals against the issued scope documentation
- Chair meetings to drive alignment and progress scope development
- Capture Lessons Learned (LfE) from previous NEC4 procurement activities
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including DIO, DE&S, and supply chain partners
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in contract management or a related role (pre- or post-contract)
- Extensive knowledge of NEC4 contracts, particularly in structuring Scope packages
- Experience in preparing and implementing NEC4 contracts within engineering projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey contract scope effectively
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage document development processes
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, ensuring contract scope information is precise
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience working in a nuclear or regulated industry
- Familiarity with the MoD estate, particularly HMNB Clyde
- Experience using CEMAR contract management software
