Job Description

On behalf of Rolls Royce, Assystem Energy & Infrastructure is recruiting a Fitter to work at the Rolls Royce site in Derby.

We are looking for experience with traditional hand skills such as flattening, straightening, fettling, and intricate grinding.

Role details:

• Role title – Fitter
• Contract duration – 12 months
• Contract type – PAYE via Umbrella – INSIDE IR35
• Hours – 37 hours/week, split between Nights, Afters, and Days (overtime available)
• Location – Rolls Royce (Raynesway)

Key responsibilities include:

• Working from technical drawings in ISO and ASME formats to produce high-quality, compliant parts
• Applying traditional hand skills such as flattening, straightening, fettling, and grinding
• Using inspection techniques to assess and verify parts against manufacturing drawings
• Utilizing engineering knowledge to seek solutions and improve processes
• Working within time constraints to meet business needs

Candidate Profile

Skills and experience required:

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship with NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Experience in fitting and/or fabrication
• Proactive and enthusiastic approach to work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
