The Job Mission

This Senior Mechanical Engineer role is embedded in one of our flagship nuclear programmes. You’ll ensure engineering compliance and drive construction readiness. Your future team will rely on your leadership across mechanical engineering work scopes.

  • Lead and manage CE’s/Works Coordination Leads to deliver construction workpack scopes
  • Liaise with SMEs and client counterparts to define scope boundaries
  • Own and update Workpacks in line with MEH and project documentation
  • Drive documentation delivery and prioritisation to enable safe construction
  • Promote and demonstrate positive HS&E culture through all project phases
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety and licence conditions
  • Coordinate surveying activities and access routing for construction readiness
  • Support Procon, Work Authorisation, and Permit systems implementation

Essential Skills:

  • Degree or HVAC trade qualifications with 5+ years’ experience
  • Relevant professional accreditation in PM, construction, or engineering
  • CCNSG Safety Passport and IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
  • Experience delivering construction projects in nuclear or regulated sectors
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate cross-functional engineering teams
  • Strong understanding of MEH scope and document control systems
  • Familiarity with nuclear site licence requirements
  • Strong leadership in a matrix and JV environment

Desired Skills:

  • Experience using Procon, Work Authorisation, and Permit systems
  • Construction Workpack delivery on major nuclear sites
  • Knowledge of Hinkley Point C or similar projects
  • Surveying coordination and access planning experience
  • Excellent problem-solving mindset with adaptability in complex environments
