Assystem is a leading nuclear engineering company seeking a Senior/Principal Stress Engineer to take a technical and capability leadership role, strengthening our UK stress engineering community. This is a hybrid role delivering high-value technical work for clients while shaping direction, tools, talent and strategy of the stress capability.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex stress and structural integrity assessments using FEA and hand calculations
- Review and approve technical work, representing Assystem confidently with clients
- Mentor and develop engineers, building future stress specialists
- Drive capability growth — training, methods, best practices, recruitment and retention
- Support bids and business development, working closely with Engineering Directors and Sales
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams in the nuclear and defence sectors
