This role is central to the day‑to‑day success of the business and contributes directly to operational performance and customer outcomes. As a Trainee Mechanical HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting experienced engineers on site, assisting with the installation, commissioning and maintenance of mechanical and HVAC systems. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who thrives in a technical environment and enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and making a tangible impact.
What you will do:
- Travel UK‑wide to work on commercial and domestic buildings, meeting daily with engineers before travelling to site; assist with heating, cooling, ventilation and domestic water systems.
- Support air and water system balancing using calibrated precision equipment.
- Assist with flow rate calculations, pre‑commission cleaning and system disinfection.
- Support water treatment‑related tasks as required.
- Follow health & safety procedures while working collaboratively to maintain quality and compliance.
Who you are:
You are a motivated and reliable individual with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. You enjoy hands‑on work, are comfortable with physical tasks, and are keen to develop technical skills within a structured training environment.
Essential requirements:
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Willingness to work away from home Monday–Friday when required (all hotel and subsistence costs covered).
- Good mathematical ability.
- Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with customers.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Positive attitude toward health, safety and good working practices.
