Assured Safety Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation to recruit an Ecologist to join its established Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSQE) team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Ecologist looking to broaden their experience across civil engineering, construction, infrastructure and maintenance projects.

The role offers exposure to a diverse range of environments and the chance to develop your career within a supportive and forward thinking organisation.

The Role

As an Ecologist, you'll support a variety of ecological and environmental activities across multiple projects, including:

  • Undertaking pre-construction ecological surveys, including protected species and invasive non-native species (INNS).
  • Carrying out bird nesting surveys and ecological site inspections.
  • Supporting the preparation of Environmental Management Plans.
  • Visiting live construction sites to undertake environmental audits and inspections.
  • Assisting with waste sampling, classification and environmental monitoring.
  • Delivering toolbox talks and environmental awareness training.
  • Carrying out desk studies to identify sensitive ecological and designated sites.
  • Monitoring water quality and environmental controls during construction activities.

About You

To be successful, you'll ideally have

A degree in Ecology or a related Environmental discipline.

Experience within ecology, ideally supporting construction, infrastructure or civil engineering projects.

  • A sound understanding of UK environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work across multiple projects and build positive relationships with site teams.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
