Assured Safety Recruitment is partnering with a respected UK manufacturing group to appoint a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager for their high-volume production facility in Somerset. As a key member of the Site Leadership Team, you will lead the HSE strategy, supported by a dedicated Health, Safety & Environment Advisor. We’re looking for someone who combines strategic capability with a hands-on approach; someone who can inspire teams, shape behaviours, and drive continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver a site-specific HSE improvement plan to manage risks and ensure legal compliance
- Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance across all departments
- Lead internal and external audits to uphold high standards including 14001/45001
- Oversee emergency preparedness and contractor/visitor safety processes
- Provide expert HSE guidance to site operations
- Implement Group SHE systems, initiatives, and campaigns at site level
- Liaise with regulators and ensure timely statutory reporting
- Proven experience leading HSE strategy in a large manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong communication and engagement skills at all organisational levels
- A proactive, visible leader with the ability to influence culture and behaviours
- Robust knowledge of technical and legislative risk management
