Assured Safety Recruitment is partnering with a respected UK manufacturing group to find a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager for their high-volume production facility in Shropshire. As part of the Site Leadership Team, you’ll take the lead on HSE strategy, supported by a dedicated Health, Safety and Environment Advisor. The role calls for someone who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership—someone who can engage teams, influence behaviours, and drive continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver a site-specific health, safety and environment improvement plan to manage risks and ensure legal compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance across all departments.
- Lead internal and external audits to maintain high standards.
- Oversee emergency preparedness and contractor/visitor safety procedures.
- Provide expert HSE guidance across site operations.
- Implement Group SHE systems, initiatives, and campaigns locally.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely statutory reporting.
- Mentor the SHE Advisor and lead the SHE Committee for effective governance.
- Proven experience leading HSE strategy in a large manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong communication and engagement skills across all levels of the business.
- A proactive, visible leader who can influence culture and behaviours.
- Ideally a Level 6 Diploma (or equivalent) in Health & Safety—or actively working towards it.
- Solid understanding of technical and legislative risk management.
