Assured Safety Recruitment is excited to be supporting a leading civil engineering company in growing their team at Sizewell C through the appointment of an Environment and Sustainability Manager.

The Role

The Environmental & Sustainability (E&S) Manager is responsible for enhancing E&S performance, driving innovation across projects, and supporting the development and implementation of the broader business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review project-specific environmental documentation
  • Manage Section 61 consents and relevant permits/licenses
  • Ensure project teams understand client sustainability requirements
  • Audit and report E&S performance to clients and regulatory bodies
  • Support delivery of material management plans for reuse/disposal
  • Provide technical guidance on environmental challenges
  • Monitor and improve project E&S performance
  • Collate and analyze E&S data for reporting
  • Ensure legal and corporate compliance on environmental matters
  • Liaise with clients, authorities, and statutory bodies
  • Investigate environmental incidents when required
  • Support implementation of EMS/EnMS across the business
  • Promote sustainable procurement with site teams and buyers
  • Deliver E&S training to project teams and supply chain
  • Contribute to the business-wide E&S strategy and implementation

About You

  • Professional membership (e.g. IEMA)
  • Relevant Environmental or Sustainability qualification
  • ISO 14001/50001 auditor training (Lead Auditor preferred)
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and guidelines
  • Auditing experience and formal training
  • Proven track record in embedding E&S in projects
  • Skilled in managing records and documentation
