Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MIS Junior Engineer to join our MIS team in the Harrogate/Leeds area. This role involves providing technical support to end-users, managing service tickets, setting up new user accounts, and resolving hardware and software issues. The ideal candidate has a passion for or experience in IT support and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for end-user technical support requests, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Manage and resolve service tickets related to hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Set up and configure new user accounts, including email, access permissions, and software installations.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Assist in deploying and maintaining software applications and updates.
  • Utilize remote management tools to support remote users, ensuring seamless technical assistance.
  • Document technical issues and solutions to contribute to the knowledge base.
  • Collaborate with the Global Information Security team to ensure security compliance.

Key Requirements

Experience and Qualifications

  • Multiple years of experience in IT support, internships, academic projects, or self-study.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and common IT support tools.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with laptop hardware components and experience in hardware repair and maintenance.
  • Experience with remote management tools for supporting remote users.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Customer-focused mindset and high-quality support commitment.

Optional / Ideal Experience

  • Experience with ticketing systems like Jira, Confluence, Zendesk.
