About the Role
Manage UK and Europe tax and compliance for the Association, CIMA and its regional offices.
Work with external and internal partners to build compliance frameworks, noting the dynamic activities under the Association umbrella.
Report to the Director - Tax & Compliance and use a hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file UK VAT returns, EU MOSS returns and other foreign indirect tax returns.
- Monitor sales, partnering with external tax advisors and other members of the tax team to assess compliance obligations globally.
- Ensure indirect tax rules are configured in our technical systems, engaging and partnering with technology staff and product teams.
- Calculate annual VAT recovery rate, based on an extra statutory concession and subscription apportionment calculation.
- Maintain compliance with the UK’s 'Making Tax Digital' rules.
- Prepare transaction documentation annually for external firm which prepares the corporate tax returns, including gathering supporting information from our teams.
- Support global tax projects such as transfer pricing.
- Research and document conclusions on compliance issues, preparing guidance and advising other departments.
- Prepare tax expense budgets and forecasts, staying up to date with tax law changes affecting taxation of the organisation.
- Complete monthly journal entries and reconciliations as assigned.
- Recruit, train and manage direct reports, delegating responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Indirect tax experience in practice or industry.
- Accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
