Location: Hybrid – Central Birmingham (minimum 1 day per week in-office)

Hays is proud to be partnering with a local council to recruit two experienced Project Managers on an interim basis. These roles are ideal for professionals with a strong background in project delivery within complex environments, particularly in the public or finance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of established projects with existing plans in place.
  • Lead weekly stand-ups, project meetings, and monthly review/status sessions.
  • Conduct proximity planning and task breakdowns to ensure timely delivery.
  • Proactively manage project risks and issues, supporting resolution efforts.
  • Facilitate smooth operation of project boards and governance structures.
  • Maintain high-quality project documentation, including status, change, exception, and risk reports.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven track record in project management, ideally within public sector finance.
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders and workstream leads.
